Victor N. Hanson, age 80 of Janesville, WI passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 19, 1943 in Edgerton, WI, the son of Carl and Alice (Bass) Hanson. He graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1962 and attended Milton College. Victor was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Victor married Kilea Holmes on October 7, 1967 and she referred to him as “My Atticus Finch” throughout their lifetime together. Victor resided in Beloit for 52 years where he was employed by the Beloit Police Department as a detective from 1967 to 1994. Following retirement, he served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Victor and Kilea moved to Janesville in 1999.
Victor will be remembered as “A good Norwegian man with an exceptional sense of humor”. He was a life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Victor Hanson is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Kilea Hanson; sons, Aaron (Janice) Starum of Fitchburg, WI, Matthew Starum of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Isabelle Stohr of Viroqua, WI; sisters-in-law, Darcy Holmes, Cherie Holmes, Freila Bennett; brother-law, Brad Holmes; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Tom Stohr.
A time to celebrate Victor’s life will be held at a later date, probably in the summer of 2024, with interment in the East Koshkonong Lutheran Church Cemetery. The Hanson family is being assisted by HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Online condolences may be sent to www.henkeclarson.com.
