Vicki Ann Powell

Vicki Ann Powell, age 71, of Janesville passed away at Rock Haven surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Vicki was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 11, 1953, the daughter of Derald and Mary Jane (Baun) Graham. The family moved to the Burlington, WI area where Vicki grew up and graduated from Burlington High School in 1971. She then attended State College of Beauty Culture in Wauwatosa graduating as a beautician in 1972.

Vicki married Gerald W. “Jerry” Powell on October 26, 1974, at Cargill United Methodist Church, Janesville. She was employed as a beautician for 30 years. After retiring as a beautician, Vicki was self-employed as a painter/decorator and also operated Cottonwood Custom Framing. She was a member of Cargill United Methodist Church. Vicki enjoyed quilting and gardening but above all else being with her family was most important to her.

Vicki is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jerry Powell; daughters, Brianne (John) Galvin of Janesville, Elissa (Eric) Hempler of Elkhorn; granddaughters Makayla Hempler and Peyton Hempler; her sister, Sherry (Dennis) Johnson of Oronoco, MN; her brother, Scott (Lauren) Graham of St. Paul, MN; nieces and nephews. Vicki’s parents preceded her in death.

Vicki’s family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Rock Haven and Agrace Hospice for the compassionate and loving care that they gave to her.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville. Rev. Steve Scott and Rev. Scott Carlson will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27th at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made in Vicki’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the Wounded Warrior Project or the charity of the donor’s choice.
