Val Olson

MILTON - Waltraud Brigitte “Val” Olson age 72 of Milton, WI passed away on March 3, 2024, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison. She was born in Germany on April 19, 1951, the daughter of Wilhelm and Frieda (Felmeden) Hupfeld. She grew up in Germany where she attended school.

Val met her husband to be, David D. Olson while he was serving in the military in Germany, and they were married on October 18, 1970. Following David’s discharge from service, the family came to the United States, and they returned to Germany in 1977 when David took work for the United States Government. They returned to the United States in 2003 and settled in the Janesville area.

Val loved to cook and bake and will be remembered for the wonderful baking she shared with family and friends, especially for holidays and birthdays. She also enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetables.

Val is survived by her husband, David D. Olson; son, Christopher (Maria) Olson of Milton; granddaughters, Bianca (Darion) Patton, and Alycia Olson; sister, Irmgard Jank; nieces, Doris (Dieter) Jank and Elke (Uwe) Göbel; great-niece Nadine Weiland. Her parents preceded her in death.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville. Private burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Friday, March 15th at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME.
