Timothy George Luedtke

August 16, 1958 — February 16, 2025

Timothy “Tim or Luke” Luedtke passed away in the early morning hours of February 16th, 2025, at UW TLC from complications related to Pancreatic Cancer, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Janesville on August 16, 1958 to Carl Jr. and Betty (Franke) Luedtke. He joined siblings Cathie (deceased), Carla and Tom.

He graduated from Craig High School in 1976 where he participated in baseball, football and FFA. He then completed the Farm Short Course at UW Madison. He enjoyed his time spent at the farm with his brother-in-law Steve. Tim worked at Prent then started his career at WP&L/Alliant Energy in 1980. Tim was very proud of his role as Material Coordinator in Monroe and retired after 41 years. He had the “BEST” co-workers and recently enjoyed the monthly retiree breakfast until his health declined.

In August of 1981, he met LuAnn Curtis and their true love began. They were married on February 19, 1983. On November 17th, 1984, his first hunting buddy Steve was born. He arrived early on Opening Weekend of the WI Deer Hunt and Tim always said Steve was ready to get in on the fun. His second hunting/fishing buddy, Mike arrived on March 10th 1987. Tim was amazed how he could cast all day with lures bigger than the fish he ever caught. Tim was so happy that the boys enjoyed hunting as much as he did, maybe even more. Tim was proud of the men/husbands/fathers they have become. There are not many dads and sons who have spent so much quality time together. They all wished they had more time. Tim loved his hunts in Wisconsin, Iowa and a few special hunts in Wyoming. They were married in February as that did not interfere with any hunting season for Tim and a nice time of year to go somewhere warm for LuAnn. He enjoyed being active in the boys’ sports activities – coaching and watching. We loved road trips out West, to Florida and Northern WI. Tim and LuAnn enjoyed a special Hawaiian Cruise with Brian and Tricia.

His greatest adventure started when he became a Grandpa in 2013. He so loved Makayla, Justin, Joanna and Emma Jane. Spending time in Iowa with them, giving rides on a side by side and 4-wheeler were times of his greatest joy. Tim had such a great sense of humor, which is something his family will miss the most. His positive attitude since his diagnosis in June gave us all hope.

Tim is survived by LuAnn, Steve and Jill Luedtke and their girls, Joanna and Emma, Mike and Avivia Luedtke and their kids Makayla and Justin. He is also survived by his dad, Carl and siblings Carla and Steve Agnew, Tom and Annette Luedtke and Gordon Beyerlein and their families. Also, sisters-in-law, Sue (Mike Magnuson) Curtis and Tricia Jones and their families. He is predeceased by his mom, Betty, sister Cathie Beyerlein, a brother Doug (in infancy), his in-laws, Ken and Beth Curtis and Brian Jones.

The family would like to thank the Orfordville/Footville EMS, staff at SSM Janesville ED and PT, Oak Park Janesville Therapy Dept. Meriter ICU, UW Hospital staff, especially TLC who were so supportive and compassionate during Tim’s final hours, the UW Pancreatic Cancer Center team, and the Pharmacy staff at CVS-Target.

LuAnn, Steve and Mike and their families are very blessed with the love and support of family and so many friends.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials are appreciated to the Orfordville Fire District/EMS, the UW Carbone Pancreas Cancer Task Force or a charity of your choice.
