Stanley O. Smythe

Stanley O. Smythe, age 91 of Janesville, passed away at his home on July 18, 2024. He was born in Ossing, NY on February 6, 1933, the son of Edward and Edna (Hjorth) Smythe. He grew up in Janesville and graduated from Janesville High School in 1951.

Stan married Bonnie Quade on September 6, 1952. He was formerly employed by United Parcel Service and later was the manager of the Janesville Red Arrow Welding Supply from which he retired. Stanley was a former member of Janesville Masonic Lodge # 55. He enjoyed working in his yard and gardening.

Stan is survived by his wife of nearly 72 years, Bonnie Smythe; son Richard (Karen) Smythe; grandchildren, Victoria (Scott) Duncan, Richard (Angie) Smythe, Amie (Phil) Summons, Taber Smythe, and Lacey Thiele; and great-grandchildren, Raelyn, Mc Kenzie, Caleb, Sean, Courtney, Ashton, John, Michael and Kiera. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Debbie Smythe.

A memorial gathering to honor Stan’s life will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville.
