Sharon Ann Roberts, 81, of Janesville, WI passed away in the comfort of her own home on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Sharon was born in Stoughton, WI on August 25, 1943, the daughter of Reuben and Elvira (Schantz) Emerson. She grew up in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in social work from UW-Madison.
Sharon married Harry E. Roberts Jr. on August 13, 1965. They resided on the family farm in La Prairie Township, Rock County, where Sharon assisted on the farm. She was employed as a social worker by the Rock County Human Services Department and later by the Janesville Boys & Girls Club. Prior to retiring she was employed in physical therapy and rehabilitation as a transcriptionist.
Sharon was a member of Christ Community Church, Clinton and its women’s group. She was a member of the La Prairie Grange and active with the La Prairie 4-H. She and Harry have been long-time members of Janesville Moose Lodge # 197. Sharon especially enjoyed the many dances she and Harry attended there as well as at numerous other locations around the area.
Sharon is survived by her husband, of nearly 60 years, Harry Roberts, Jr.; children, Scott Roberts of Janesville, and Fawn (Tom) LeVault of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Shannon (Derrick) Van Beek, Justin (Maribeth) Ryder, Thomas (Lindsey) LeVault, Jr., Kasondra (Dustin) Hall, Kyle (Haley) LeVault, and Mercedes (Billy) Thorp; 17 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Janet Luiting; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Emerson, and sister-in-law, Shirley Culver.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2025, at CHRIST COMMUNITY CHURCH, 402 Church St., Clinton, WI. Pastor Mike Ligman will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 4th at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville and at the church on Monday, May 5th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Private interment will be at a later date in the Emerald Grove Cemetery.
