Sally Jo Cheever

April 8, 1947 — August 2, 2021

Sally Jo Cheever, age 74, of Janesville passed away peacefully at her home on August 2, 2021. She was born in Janesville on April 8, 1947, the daughter of Willard and Nellie (Nyhus) Naatz. She grew up in Janesville, graduated from Janesville Senior High School and UW Eau Claire. Sally taught elementary school for many years in the Milton School District and prior to retiring taught at the Northside Intermediate School. Following retirement, Sally continued to enjoy teaching as a substitute teacher in the Milton district. Sally loved gardening, especially raising the beautiful flowers she so much enjoyed. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays, going with her good friend Rita to get their nails done and attending sporting events with her friend Lys. She was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and supporting her children in their activities, especially watching her “favorite daughter” play sports. Sally is survived by three children; Garrett (Jodi), Colin (Leah) and Hillary; three grandchildren, Willard, Lucey and Wade; her sister, Susan (Henry) Ninstil; her niece, Kelly (Adam) Hoopes. Her parents preceded her in death. A time to celebrate Sally’s life will be from 9 a.m. until Noon on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at her home, 1804 Holly Drive, Janesville. Please come and enjoy her beautiful flowers and visit for a bit. In lieu of flowers, Sally would love you to spend time with friends, go on a shopping spree or enjoy a favorite book. Sally Cheever’s family is being assisted by HENKE-CLARSON FUNEAL HOME.
