Robert A. "Bob" Heckmann

Robert A. “Bob”Heckmann, age 77, of Janesville, WI passed away on May 30, 2023 at SSM Heath St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital. He was born on January 2, 1946 in Chicago, IL, the son of Harold and Hazel (Larson) Heckmann.

Bob moved with his family to Homewood, Il when he was several years old and he grew up in Homewood where he graduated from Homewood Flossmoor High School.

Bob married Kenda Cline on June 24, 1972. He was employed as an electrical engineer in the railroad industry. He began working for Chicago West Pullman. In 1987 the family moved to Janesville where he was employed by Wisconsin Calumet Railroad and later when it became Wisconsin & Southern Railroad until he retired in 2013.

Bob was an avid reader and enjoyed spending many hours at the library reading about his favorite subjects, science fiction and true crime. He was a member of the N.R.A.

Bob Heckmann is survived by his two daughters; Kiesa Heckmann and Heidi (Christopher) Kocha; grandchildren, Haidan and Katheryn Kocha and Kenda Barnhill-Heckmann. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kenda Heckmann on April 11, 2023. His parents and his sister, Claire Heckmann also preceded him in death.
