Richard Dallas Paul Sr., age 85 of Janesville, WI passed away at Mercy Hospital on March 12, 2024. He was born on July 7, 1938 one of 14 children born to Harry Peter Paul Sr and Arvilla (LaBar) Paul. He attended school at New Diggings, WI where the family resided. He served in the U.S. Army from August 11, 1955 to July 25, 1958.
Richard married Barbara E. Bunker on July 26, 1959. They resided in Janesville and the surrounding area while Richard worked at the Janesville General Motors plant for over 25 years. After retirement from General Motors, he continued to work making utility trailers. He also mowed lawns for area churches and others. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara on April 26, 2020.
Richard is survived by two daughters; Charlene Paul and Becky (Mike) Wastak both of Milton, WI; son Jeffrey Paul of Janesville, WI; eight grandchildren, Danielle, Joshua, Amber, Andrew, Mitchell, Kathy, Sara and Carmen; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, James Paul, Wesley Paul, Patty Ann (Randy) Davis, Randy Paul and David Paul. He is further survived by his most beloved canine companion, Molly B.
In addition to his wife, Barbara and parents, Richard is preceded in death by his son, Richard Paul Jr.; twin sons who died in infancy, Rodney and Robert; siblings, Harry Jr., Robert, Shirley Ann, Jo Ann, Charles, Thomas, Ricky and William as well as a great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 12 Noon Monday, March 18, 2024 at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville. A funeral service will follow at Noon Monday, March 18th at the FUNERAL HOME with John Thomson officiating. The service will be followed by military rites by Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post # 1621. Private burial will be Rock Lily Cemetery, Winslow, IL.
