Richard Leonard Ellis, age 84 of Janesville, WI went home to his mansion in Heaven at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital, Janesville on April 24, 2025. He was born on June 5, 1940, in Eau Claire, WI, the son of Albert and Virginia (Reynolds) Ellis.
Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed for many years as a machinist and retired from Crepaco in Lake Mills, WI where he worked for 30 years. Richard was a member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, car rides, music, volunteering, orchids, gardening, but above all, spending time with his family and his special little pup, “Sugar”.
Richard is survived by his siblings, Fran Magelson, Becky (LeRoy) Wood, and Kenny (Karen) Ellis; his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Kathy Ellis, Cheryl (Andy) Clark, Greg Ellis, Chris (Maria) Ellis, Katie (Vince) Mareno, Megan Clark, Priscilla (Alex) Taylor, Ben (Stacy) Radke, Jake (Gabrielle) Radke, Roger Radke, Sophia (Danny) Curtis, James, Oliver, Mason, Mia, Porter, Lennon, Archer, Milli, Brooks, Jaxon, Barron, and Poppy. He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2025, at ST. MATTHEW’S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 709 Milton Avenue, Janesville. Pastor James Janke will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on May 1st from 10 to 11 a.m. The Richard Ellis family is being assisted by HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME.
