Richard "Dick" Wagner

Richard Leo Wagner (Dick), age 84, a life-long Bradford Township resident passed away January 18, 2024, at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. Born July 2, 1939, the son of Leo and Julia (Reagles) Wagner, he attended Clinton High School and was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Korea during the war.

Dick married Marletta Brockman who preceded him in death June 14, 1999. He later married Marie Wilkinson who preceded him in death March of 2021. He is preceded in death by his niece, Jonnie Campbell (Maavich) that he raised and by his parents and his sister, Mary Maavich.

Dick was employed at the Admiral Corp. in Harvard, IL for several years prior to working at General Motors in Janesville from which he retired.

Dick loved spending time on his property enjoying the birds and other wildlife. He also enjoyed meeting his friends at the Sundown Café in Clinton.

Dick is survived by his brother-in-law, Jerry (Anna) Brockman; stepchildren and great step-grandchildren; Robert (Mary) Jones, Neal, Chris; Daniel Wilkinson III, Daniel IV, Brittany; Deanna Wilkinson (Keith Gooch), William, Ben; Lori (Tom) Davie, Tommy, Emily; Ed (Jennifer) Wilkinson, Madelyn, Joshua; Randy Wilkinson, Racheal, Chevelle. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Ken Garecht and Tony Wojcik for being there when Dick needed them the most. Thanks to the nurses and healthcare workers involved in Dick’s care.

Visitation will be from Noon-1pm Saturday, January 27, 2024, with funeral services to follow at 1pm in the MILTON LAWNS MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 2200 Milton Avenue, Janesville. Entombment will be in the Milton Lawns Mausoleum. Following the services there will be a time for fellowship and refreshments at the RiversEdge Bowl, 215 South River St., Janesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Autism Program at Easterseals, 1601 Parkview Ave., Rockford, IL 61107.
