JANESVILLE - Raymond Palmer Kjendlie Jr., age 74, a long-time Janesville resident passed away on February 20, 2024. Ray was born in Janesville on April 2, 1949, the son of Raymond P. Kjendlie Sr. and Marietta (Stewart) Kjendlie. He grew up in Janesville and graduated from Janesville High School in 1968.
Raymond married Linda K. Smith on January 27, 1968, at Faith Lutheran Church, Janesville. He was employed by Chrysler Corporation in Belvidere, IL for 32 years prior to retiring.
Following retirement, Raymond enjoyed hauling the Amish in the Hillsboro, WI area. He also enjoyed visiting with his friends at McDonald’s over coffee. He enjoyed attending auctions and had a special place in his heart for Minneapolis Moline tractors.
Ray is survived by his wife, of 56 years, Linda Kjendlie; sons, Raymond P. (Rebekah) Kjendlie III, Parry (Cassie) Kjendlie; grandchildren, Troy (Lindsey), Tiana, Jesse, Josie, Devin, Austin, Patricia, Griffen, Brooks, Rachel, Jacob; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, John (Ellen) Kjendlie; sister, Cheryll Buckingham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jody and brother, Conrad Holliday.
Funeral services will be at Noon Friday, February 23, 2024, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville. Rev. James Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to Noon Friday, Feb. 23rd at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME. Online condolences may be sent to www.henkeclarson.com
