Paulette I. Mullen

March 18, 1946 — July 10, 2023

Paulette Ione Mullen, 77, of Milton, WI passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Palmer and Violet (Clift) Hoium and was born on March 18, 1946, in Viroqua, WI. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1964. Paulette worked for 39 years at The Burdick, first in Milton where she met her future husband, and later at Cardiac Science in Deerfield, WI before retiring in 2012. Paulette married Robert Mullen on September 6, 1975, and they made their home on the family farm.

Paulette was a wonderful baker and cook, and felt privileged to share her and Bob’s home with their children and grandchildren. She loved snuggling up with Killian to watch Disney movies together, and she spent many happy times with her children and grandchildren at The Dells. A reader, she shared many books with family and friends over the years. She especially enjoyed the music of Adam Lambert and also anything country music related. The family farm was also an important part of her life where she enjoyed working in her vegetable garden with Bob and watching her kids work with their sheep, pigs and other 4-H/FFA projects. For many years she loved hosting her family and extended family with a 4th of July picnic. An avid “can’t-miss-a-game” Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan, she also never failed to fill out her March Madness bracket. Something she looked forward to were her daily road trips around the countryside with Bob.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters: Mindy (David) Ference of Janesville and Marcy Mullen at home; her grandchildren: Sierra (Sean) Hart of Fitchburg, Sydney (Dean) Baumann and their son, Oliver, of Clinton, and Killian Mullen, at home. She is further survived by sisters, Janet Zimmer and Brenda Schuh, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Evelyn, Carol, Beatrice, and Margaret; and brothers: Bernard, Orville, Melvin, Paul, Laverne “Skip”, Ralph, and Allan “Butch”.
