Marvel A. Thompson

Marvel Arlene Thompson, age 85, Janesville, WI died February 9, 2025, and entered eternity to meet her Lord. She was born February 27,1939 in Hillsboro, WI to Glen and Lucille Dobbs who relocated to Rock County while Marvel was a young girl.

She graduated from Brodhead High School in 1957 and worked as a nurse’s aide at the Beloit Hospital. In 1958 She met a sailor named Terrance Thompson at the Bluff View Park dance hall. They were married in 1959 and recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.

She loved country music and made several trips to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN. Marvel also spent many hours researching her family genealogy. Her love of teddy bears resulted in a collection of over 700 Teddy bears.

She is survived by her husband, Terrance, of Janesville; son, Terry (Dawn) Thompson of Milwaukee; and daughter, Pamela (Randy) Webb of Janesville. She had the joy of having six grandchildren and five great grandchildren

Visitation will be held at the HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a brief memorial service at 11 a.m. Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Mausoleum in Brookfield.
