JANESVILLE - Marla Jean Breidenstein, age 87 of Janesville, passed away at her home on Monday morning, March 4, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born in Rice Lake, WI on December 21, 1936, the daughter of Lester and Beulah (Hansen) Hulburt. When Marla was 2 years old, the family moved to Janesville where she grew up and graduated from Janesville High School in 1955.
Marla married William L. Breidenstein in Janesville on June 30, 1956. Marla was a stay-at home mom who enjoyed raising her family, until her children were all in school. She then became a quality control specialist at SSI Technology.
In retirement, Marla enjoyed reading, crocheting, and quilting, but her main interest always revolved around keeping up with her family’s activities.
Marla is survived by her husband of 67 years, William L. Breidenstein, Sr.; children, Brad (Mindy) Breidenstein, Barb (Shawn) Sharp, Keith (Jocelyn) Breidenstein, and Karen (Mike) Lou; daughter-in-law, Patti Breidenstein; grandchildren, Bradley, Brenda, Kathy, Billy III, Jessica, Jeremy, Aaron, Cole, Nick, Nate, Tristan, Alex, Ian, Nikki, Jason, Amanda, Breanna, and Kyle; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Gayla (Elbie) Lamb and Sheila Hulburt; brothers, Larry Hulburt and Jerry (Carol) Hulburt; brothers-in-law, Alton Breidenstein and Bob Breidenstein; sister-in-law, Linda (Harry) Fiske; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marla was preceded in death by her son, William “Lee” Breidenstein, Jr; her parents; her twin sister, Marcia Dunnavant; brothers, Lynn Hulburt and Verl Hulburt; and a sister, Sharon Hulburt, who died in infancy.
Marla’s family wishes to give a special thank you to her personal caregiver Paula, as well as to the Agrace Hospice registered nurses and certified nursing assistants that cared for her.
A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2024, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville. There will be a time of sharing at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 10th at the FUNERAL HOME.
