Lorraine Gail Vanderlip, 93, of Janesville passed away on May 31, 2023 at Cedar Crest in Janesville, WI. She was born January 20, 1930 in Hillpoint, WI to Herbert W. Schulz and Leone M. (Dorow) Schulz. Her mother died when Lorraine was five years old. Her father married Emma Kruse several years later. Lorraine was married October 2, 1948 to Lee C. Vanderlip in Whitewater, WI. They lived in Whitewater and Janesville WI until 1980, moving to the Greers Ferry Lake area, AR residing there until 2007 when they returned to Janesville.
While in AR, Lorraine was active in AARP, Trinity Lutheran Church, Cleburn County EHC, Cleburn Country Fair, Greers Ferry Lake Area Photography club, Red Hat Society, Baptist Health Hospital Auxiliary and Drasco Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
Lorraine is survived by her three sons: Randall (Cecelia) Vanderlip, Janesville, WI, David (Candace) Vanderlip, Milton, WI, and Dean Vanderlip, Cedarburg, WI; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Anne) Schulz, Chattanooga, TN; one sister Sharon (Brian) Waldeck of Oconomowoc, WI; brother-in-law Jack (Jemmie) Vanderlip, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Vanderlip; one son Allen Vanderlip; one granddaughter Andrea Vanderlip; daughter-in-law, Janet Vanderlip; parents, Herbert and Leone Dorow Schulz; her step-mother Emma Schulz; mother and father-in-law, Gertrude and L.C. Vanderlip; and her brothers Kenneth (Mary Jane) Schulz and Glen Schulz.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville on Sunday June 11th, 2023 starting at 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Sunday officiated by Pastor Brad Urlaub. Lorraine will be laid to rest privately next to her husband, Lee at the Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ECHO, Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin, Agrace Hospice or the charity of your choice.
