Leonard Eugene Hoch, age 74 of Janesville, WI passed away on June 27, 2023 at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, Madison, WI. He was born in Anderson, IN on November 16, 1948, the son of Glen and Virginia (Grady) Hoch. He grew up in Anderson where he graduated from Highland High School in 1967.
Leonard attended Ball State University for one year prior to joining the U. S. Navy. He served as a Navy SeaBee during the Viet Nam War. Following his discharge, he attended and graduated from Indiana University with a degree in business. While at the university he was president of ATO Fraternity.
In 1981, Leonard met Rachel Betancourt in California and they were married on September 25, 1982 in Algonquin, IL. He was employed in Chicago by the Chicago Board Options Exchange, where he eventually became vice-president of IT. He later worked for Digital Equipment Corporation, Ernst & Young and Deloitte & Touche. While in Seattle Leonard and Rachel started their own consulting business, Hoch and Associates After moving to Wisconsin, to a small farmette in Rock County, they converted one of the farm’s out buildings to a quilting business, Quilt Barn Studio and he served as APQS technician for the business.
Leonard was an avid duck hunter, fisherman, hiker, golfer and photographer. For 22 years, he and Rachel were members of Sahalee Country Club in the Seattle, WA area. He was a member of Clinton American Legion Post # 440.
Leonard Hoch is survived by his wife, Rachel; daughters, Yvonne Carrillo and Marcella (Ryan) Imhoff; grandchildren, Marcella Carrillo, Samuel Carrillo, Ysabel Imhoff, Benjamin Imhoff; and great-granddaughter, Lucia Carrillo; Uncle, Mead Grady. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Virginia Hoch and his sister, Laura Lee Hoch.
As a Celebration of Len’s Life the family is requesting celebratory colors be worn.
A time to celebrate and honor Leonard’s life will be from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2023 at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville, WI. The celebration will conclude with military honors by Clinton American Legion Post # 440 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a memorial fund to be used for the care of military veterans.
