Judith McDonald

Judith Arlene McDonald of Janesville passed away at her home surrounded by her loving daughters on February 3, 2025. She was 86 years old. She was born in Madison, WI on June 22, 1938, the daughter of Robert B. and Beth (Carlson) Seeman. She grew up in Center Township and attended the Brown Center one room school. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1956.

Judith was employed by Parker Pen Company for 33 years, retiring when it closed. She then worked at the Boston Store for 11 years. Judith married Jim Rhodes in 1958 and the marriage was blessed with three children, Jana, Jill and James. Judith later divorced and married Paul McDonald in 1985. They enjoyed traveling together and especially enjoyed attending Wisconsin Badger games. Paul died in 2008.

Judith enjoyed caring for her flowers, doing jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed watching Badger and Packer games. She enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Judith is survived by her daughters; Jana (Petur) Sigurdsson and Jill (Jack) Slaback; son, James Rhodes; grandchildren, Stephen Smith, Christopher Smith, BJ Forde, Jacob (Christina) Slaback, Mallory (Matt) Spade, Haley Slaback; great-grandchildren, Arianna, Madisyn, Caleb, Adilyn, Audra, Logan, Ethan, Vivi, Aubrey, Kenzey; brother, Robert (Joy) Seeman, sisters Julie (Jim) Watson and Karen Kutz; sister-in-law Diane Seeman; step-children, Paula (Mike) McDonald, Pat (Tim) Green and Marty (Mary) McDonald. In addition to her husband, Paul McDonald she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mary Zentz and Joan Neeno and her brother David Seeman.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2025 at ST. MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH. Pastor Rick Sears will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Center Township. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6th at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville and at the Church on Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rock County Cancer Coalition or SSM Health at Home Hospice.
