Joyce J. Johnson

Joyce Jean Johnson, age 82, of Janesville, WI passed away at her daughter Linda’s home on January 28, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 23, 1941, in Janesville, the daughter of Gerald and Mary (Behling) Gilbertson.

Joyce was a life-long resident of Janesville and graduated from Janesville High School in 1959. She was a life-long member of First Lutheran Church and was employed in the banking industry for 27 years.

Joyce cherished her time with family and looking after her grandchildren. She enjoyed her walks around the neighborhood, reading the newspaper, scrapbooking the Gilbertson family history and all Wisconsin sports. Joyce could never watch enough Animal Planet while getting her back scratched by her grandkids.

Joyce is survived by her children, Mike (Kris) Mulligan and their children, Michael, Eric and Michelle; Kathy (Todd) Mulrooney and their children, Megan, Krista and Zack; Linda Kilcoyne and her children, Amanda and Chad; Lori (Gary) Havens and their children, Aaron, Andrea, Adam, Mitchalena and Amy; and Lisa (Mike “Halvy”) Paulson and her son, Jeremy; and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Karen (Bill)Schoeberle and Mary Ann (Bill) Wallace; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, William; and grandson, Michael.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2024, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 North Wright Road, Janesville. Rev. James Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 1st and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday February 2nd at the HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME.
