Joyce Ellen Gray, age 90 of Janesville passed away at her home on February 15, 2024. She was born in Janesville on July 25, 1933, the daughter of Harold and Madeline (Babcock) Wyss. She grew up in Janesville and graduated from Janesville High School. She married Robert F. Gray on July 5, 1966.
Joyce was formerly employed by Desen’s Garage, Fairbanks Morse Company and for 30 years by Parker Pen Company from which she retired as a sales director.
Joyce was always up for any adventure! She enjoyed fishing, travel, gambling, gardening, playing euchre as well as ceramics at the Janesville Senior Center. She was a volunteer for over 40 years thru the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, participating in folk fairs at local elementary schools and knitting caps for donations.
Joyce Gray is survived by her children; Guy (Maureen) Gray, Ann (Dale) Gackstatter, Carolyn Hiller, Mike Gray; son-in-law, Steve Cawkins; grandchildren, Angela Karpi, Windy (Dave) Kadlec, Kathryn (Barry) Spors, David (Trisha) Gackstatter, Celeste Hiller, Terry Hiller, Rachel Sanders, Matthew (Kari) Cawkins, Nicole (George) Lankford, Tim (Dani) Cawkins; great-grandchildren Calton (Kayla) Karpi, Nathaniel (Kassidy) Karpi, Lucas (Lara) Karpi, Anna (William) Sorenson, Collin Kadlec, Emily (Kent) Matthews, Cierra ( Bryce) Schickert, Avery Spors, Harrison Spors, Alana Gackstatter, Jackson Gackstatter, Zyteria Bobzien, Matthew, Fiona, JJ Sanders, Trenton Cawkins, Maci Lankford, Meadow Lankford, Madeline Lankford; great-great grandchildren Bentley, Bo and Rosemary Karpi, Graham Kadlec; a special nephew Bob (Lori) Redenius.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gray on September 27, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Cawkins and brother, Harold “Bud” Wyss.
