John W. Westendorf

JANESVILLE - John William Westendorf, age 78, of Janesville passed peacefully on April 10, 2023, at Cedar Crest Assisted Living. Born in Janesville, WI he was the son of the late Ernest and Dorothy (Buchholz) Westendorf.

John was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He retired from General Motors after 45 years of employment. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

John is survived by his daughter, Brenda Carlson (The Villages, FL); his son, Brian Westendorf (Fort Wayne, IN); his son, Bruce Westendorf (Fort Wayne, IN); four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Doll, Linda Dutcher, and Betty Long; and brother, Richard Westendorf; six nieces; and nine nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to Cedar Crest Assisted Living and to Mercy Hospice Care for the loving care that John received.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville with a prayer service at 2:45 p.m. conducted by Rev. Dan Decker. A graveside service and interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Center Township.

All are invited to BaZinga Pub & Grill at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2023, for sharing of memories and your favorite Johnny stories.
