Jeanne E. Jannisch

JANESVILLE - Jeanne Elaine Jannisch age 87 of Janesville, WI died on April 17, 2024. Jeanne was born July 7, 1936, to Lawrence and Alice (Lutz) Riedel. She graduated from Wonewoc High School in 1954. On June 15, 1957, Jeanne married her high school sweetheart, William Jannisch at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wonewoc. They shared 63 years of marriage prior to his death in 2020.

Jeanne started her career in teaching, working as a first-grade teacher in Johnstown, WI. She stepped away briefly to start a family and returned to her love of teaching and children as a teachers aid at Roosevelt Elementary School in Janesville from which she retired after 19½ years.

Jeanne was an active member of the Lutheran Church her entire life. She was a member of the Capital City Corvair Club with her husband Bill. She loved doing ceramics and had a talent for decorating. Every holiday was decorated so beautifully, especially for her favorite, Christmas, where no detail was missed.

Jeanne will be lovingly remembered by her children, Steven Jannisch, Douglas (Carolyn) Jannisch and Pamela Leisten; her beloved grandchildren, Jordan Leisten, Hailey (Justin) Casey, Michelle Jannisch, and newest great-grandson, Jett Casey; and her brother, Gary (Cheryl) Riedel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Jannisch; her parents; and her grandson, Michael Jannisch.

A visitation for Jeanne will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, April 22,2024, at ST. PAUL’S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 210 South Ringold Street, Janesville. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Monday April 22nd at the CHURCH with Pastor Daniel Decker officiating. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum.
