Jeanette Lemay

JANESVILLE - Jeanette LeMay, age 85, of Janesville, Wis., passed away on August 13, 2023, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville. She was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on May 1, 1938, the daughter of Guiseppe and Rose (Letizia) Gagliano. She grew up in Milwaukee where she graduated from high school.

Jeanette married Joseph P. LeMay on September 28, 1977. They owned LeMay’s Resort in Wind Lake, Wis., for many years where they operated a resort, restaurant and catering business.

Following retirement, the LeMay’s moved to Colorado to live near their daughter’s Lori and Lisa Jo who reside there. In 2010, Jeanette moved to Janesville and has resided with her daughter, Terri and family.

Jeanette was a vivacious person, true to her Sicilian heritage who enjoyed entertaining with her acting, singing and cooking. She was loved by everyone who knew her.

Jeanette is survived by her four daughters, Michele (Ken) Guhl, Lori (Don) Popolillo, Theresa “Terri” (Terry) McClaire, and Lisa Jo (Bill) Gilbert; seven grandchildren, Nicole Herman, Ryan Scifo, Danielle (Jordan) Story, Kyle Brunton, Caleb Gilbert, Brianne Gilbert, and Jacob Gilbert; eight great-grandchildren, Saressa, Kyle, Arriana, Trenton, Andy, Gwyneth, Forest and Joey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph LeMay on January 1, 2002. Her parents; and siblings, Steve, Libby, Joey, Rose, Ellie, Virginia and Al, also predeceased her.

A Celebration of Jeanette’s Life will begin at 2 p.m. on October 15, 2023 at Kettle Moraine Ranch, W379 S9674 County Rd. S, Eagle, WI 53119.
