Janet M. Hughes

Janet Mary Hughes, age 71, of Janesville, WI passed away at her home on December 20, 2024. She was born on August 21, 1953, in Richland Center, WI, the daughter of Gordon and Ruby (Chroninger) Peterson. She grew up in the Richland Center area and graduated from Kickapoo High School. Janet married Austin “Ozzie” Hughes on November 11, 1972. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2019.

Janet is survived by her two children, Dan (Ashlea Eldred) Hughes and Susan “Skeeter” Hughes; grandchildren, Rachel Hughes, Nicole Hughes, and Michael Condon; sister, Janice (Mike) Inman; brothers, Darrel (Barb) Peterson and Myron (Linda) Peterson; numerous fur grandbabies including Sambo; and bonus family members, Chelsi Wille and Averly Kimmerly. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Revels and her brother, Maynard Peterson.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon on Friday, December 27, 2024, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville. Funeral services will follow at Noon Friday at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME. Chaplain Dennis Richards of Mercy Hospice will officiate. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum.
