Ilah Mae Sessler

JANESVILLE - Ilah Mae Sessler, age 96, of Janesville, WI passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Our House Assisted Living in Janesville. She was born in Bellingham, MN on April 29, 1927, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Olson) Mooney.

Ilah was a graduate of Janesville High School. She married Robert L. Sessler on September 11, 1948. She was formerly employed by Accudyne Corporation and later worked as a teacher’s aid at Madison Elementary School. She and Robert also operated the Jackson Street Bed & Breakfast from their home for a number of years.

Mr. and Mrs. Sessler were active members at Cargill United Methodist Church for many years. Robert preceded her in death on April 12, 2008.

Ilah Sessler is survived by one son Thomas (Linda) Sessler; daughter, Patricia (Doug) Towne; daughter-in-law, Sheila Sessler; grandson, Nicholas (Erin) Sessler; step-grandchildren Stacie (Edward) Hogue, Michele (Rob) Hollenbach; great grandchildren Jacob and Anneliese Sessler; step-great grandchildren, Alexis, Andrew and Autumn Hogue; nieces and nephews including a special niece Julie Breidenstein; special friends Marija Bagaric, her son Ben Ramic and her daughter, Nina Caviggiola.

In addition to her husband, Robert Sessler Ilah was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Don Sessler and David Sessler; step great granddaughter, Harlie Thompson.

Funeral services will be at 12 Noon Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at CARGILL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 2000 Wesley Avenue, Janesville. Rev. Steve Scott will officiate. Visitation will be at the CHURCH from 11 a.m. to Noon Wednesday, Dec. 27th. Private burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
