Helen Joyce Anderson

Helen Joyce (Mansfield) Anderson of Janesville was born May 12, 1936 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of William and Esther (Hanson) Mansfield. She passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024 at the Agrace Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.

Helen grew up in Beloit and graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1954. She graduated from Rockford Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1957 and worked at Rockford Memorial Hospital and later at Beloit Memorial Hospital for a time. She married the love of her life, Sherman E. Anderson on August 2, 1958.

Following the birth of their sons, Charles and Paul, Helen became a stay at home mom until they reached high school age when she returned to nursing in medical clinics and as a private duty nurse.

Helen was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Janesville

Helen Anderson is survived by her son, Paul Anderson; nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Anderson on June 5, 2023 and her son, Charles Anderson on June 16, 2022.

Helen Anderson’s family wishes to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Agrace Center for Hospice and Palliative Care for the outstanding care that she received. Also, a special thank you to Rebecca Roehl, Dale and Luann Weidenfeller for all of the assistance they gave Helen and Sherman.

Per Helen’s request no funeral or memorial services will be held. There will be a celebration of life and private burial at a date to be determined in the future. Memorials may be made in Helen’s name to Faith Lutheran Church or the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin. Helen Anderson’s family is being assisted by HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.
