Helen Elaine Long

Helen Elaine Long, age 90, formerly of Ligonier, IN passed away on March 26, 2023 surrounded by her family in her home in Janesville, WI.

Helen was born on August 11, 1932 to Louis and Thursa (Howard) Saathoff in Gas City, IN. She graduated from Mississinewa High School in Gas City. She raised her three daughters, Janet, Barb and Linda with much love and dedication. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Helen retired from Superior Sample in Ligonier, IN in 1998. She was known for her kindness and was dearly loved by her family and friends. She enjoyed baking, cooking for her family, playing cards and was a member of Golden Girls. She loved making quilts for her family and friends that are all treasured.

Helen was a devoted mother and grandmother who is survived by her three daughters; Janet (Kent) Moser, Barb (Ron) Weber, Linda (H D) Carter; grandchildren, Adam (Amanda) Moser, Amanda (Steven) Cowen, Matthew Lips, Derek (Joan) Runyon, Brandon (Jenna) Runyon, Jared Carter; step-grandchildren, Hartzel Carter and Tiffany Smith; great grandchildren, Teddy Moser, Asher Runyon, Carly Lips, Isaac Cowen, Avery Runyon, Tyler Runyon, Eloise Cowen, Marshall Moser and Lucas Smith.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Clifford Saathoff, Paul Saathoff, Maebelle Moore, Deloris Malott and Glen Saathoff.

A memorial service for the family will be held at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, Janesville, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice.
