Glen Bender

JANESVILLE - Glenwood Richard “Glen” Bender, age 78, of Janesville died on September 27, 2021, at Agrace Center for Hospice and Palliative Care. He was born on October 20, 1942, the son of Glen Warren and Mildred (Golla) Bender. He served for four years in the U. S. Air Force. Glen married Kathaleen Fero on May 5, 1962. He was employed by Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company for 30 years, first working as a lineman and retiring from the engineering department. Glen enjoyed woodworking, tractor pulls and was very proud of the 39 Chevy Coupe he built. Glen is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathaleen Bender; children, Kimberly (Duane) Scott and Richard (Michele) Bender; grandchildren, Amber Lyn Scott, Nathan Allen (Abby) Bender, and Noah Richard Bender; great-granddaughter, Sophia Bender; brothers, Ronald and Ivan (Kris); sisters, Carol (Bob) and Cindy (Jeff); and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bruce, Bennie and Conrad; and his sister, Joy. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the EMERALD GROVE CEMETERY. Rev. Lee A. Meissner will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post # 1621.
