Florence Siljenberg

October 6, 1942 — April 14, 2025

Flo Siljenberg went from this life in Janesville, WI to her eternal home on April 14, 2025. She was born in Durant, Ok. on October 6, 1942. She was a majority member of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. She graduated from Clayton Valley High School, Concord, CA. in 1961. After living in Albuquerque, NM, Waxahatchie, TX, and Mountain Home, ID, she came to Wisconsin where she married Alan Siljenberg on May 29, 1977. She was a member of Roxbury Church of Christ and is now with her Lord and savior. She is survived by her husband Alan, daughter Debbie Beyler, and granddaughter Chelsea Strangeway. She was preceded in death by her infant sister JoAnn Perry, as well as her parents and grandparents and her little Shih Tzu, Daisy.

She was a loving person and enjoyed helping others. She had once been a deaconess at Buckeye Church in Madison. For several years she volunteered as a driver for Rock County Child Protective Services and as a respite care worker for HospiceCare Inc. (now known as Agrace). She was a MercyHealth volunteer for 21 years, working at Castaways Thrift store for 18 of those years. She loved flowers and never thought there were enough to go around. She could always find a spot for another flower.

As a young girl, starting at age 9, she would ride the bus by herself from her home in northwestern New Mexico to southern Oklahoma to spend the summer with her grandparents. Her grandmother shared her wisdom and taught Flo to share with others even when you didn’t have much yourself. It was there at her grandmother’s church at the age of 12, that she claimed Jesus as her savior. A favorite verse was I Corinthians 15:10a; “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect.” She is now free from pain and has gone to be with her Lord, leaving her loved ones in the hands of the Almighty.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2025, at ROXBURY CHURCH OF CHRIST, 2103 Roxbury Road, Janesville. Pastor Jimmy Coyle will officiate with a eulogy by Pastor Jon Grice. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, April 18th.
