Florence R. Laabs

Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Florence Laabs, 90, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024. She was born on October 27, 1933, in Lebanon, Wisconsin, to Edwin and Alma (Tietz) Krueger. She married Arnold Laabs June 21, 1953, and together they had six children.

Florence was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in 1947, and she passed on her love of the Lord to her children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who always put her family first. She was a member of many Lutheran churches over the years as the family moved and volunteered in some capacity in many of them. After raising her children, Florence worked for Citibank for 12 years until she retired and moved to The Villages in Florida with Arnold. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and golf.

Florence is survived by her six children, Jeff (Diane) Laabs, Pam (Dave) O’Brien, Deb (Jim) Heine, Keith (Cheryl) Laabs, Craig (Lori) Laabs, and Neil (Conalee) Laabs; as well as 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Lois (Waldo) Laabs and Carol (John) Puestow. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold, in 2020; her brother, Bob; and sister, Lorraine.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 2 p.m. at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28th at the FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Agrace Hospice.
