Evelyn Rose Dagenhart, age 95, of Janesville passed away on April 19, 2025, at Huntington Place Advanced Care. She was born in Miami County, Ohio on August 14, 1929, the daughter of Lester and Mildred (Adams) Miller. Evelyn’s family moved to Madison, WI while her father served as a civilian with the U.S. Army-Air Corps and she graduated from Madison West High School.
Evelyn was married on June 25, 1949, to William H. Dagenhart II. They moved to Janesville in 1961. Evelyn was employed by Dunkin Jewelers and later in the insurance department at the Beloit Clinic, from which she retired. In retirement, Evelyn was a long-time volunteer at the Rock County Courthouse. She was an avid sewer and a member of the Red Hat Society. Above all else, Evelyn will be remembered for her love of animals.
Surviving are her sons; William H. (Chris) Dagenhart III, Scott (Becky) Dagenhart both of Janesville; grandchildren, Zachary (Ashley) Timm, Meghan (JR) Negus, Danielle (Nate) Rogers, Ronald Ludwig; nine great-grandchildren; her much beloved grand dogs, Fugi, Gizmo, Kodi and Deuce. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, William Dagenhart II on June 30, 1992. Her parents, brother Donald and sister, Arlene also predeceased her.
Private committal services will be held at Milton Lawns Memorial Park followed by entombment in the mausoleum.
