Ellen Marie Ward

Ellen Marie Ward, 80 of Janesville, WI passed away at her home on April 25, 2024. She was born in Beloit, WI on February 12, 1944, the daughter of Jesse and Betty (Lerew) Klumph. She grew up in Clinton, WI and attended Janesville High School after the family moved to Janesville.

Ellen married Frederick J. Ward on February 20, 1960. Ellen held various jobs during her lifetime including doing private day care and babysitting. She was also employed by Nunn Bush Shoe Company, Central Vending Company, SSI Technologies and Meal Magic.

Ellen attended Faith Community Church. She enjoyed swimming with her friends at the YMCA. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and going out to eat. Ellen will be remembered for her love of entertaining at her home.

Ellen is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Richard Sr.) Mellom; grandchildren, Richard Jr (Shelby) Mellom, Christopher Mellom, and Nikolas (Kensie) Mellom; great-grandchildren, (who called Ellen “GiGi”), Brayden, Weston, Colton and one on the way; sister, Ruth (Allan) Martin; brother-in-law Delbert Ward; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frederick Ward in 2012; and her daughter, Diana Ward in 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at FAITH COMMUNITY CHURCH, 2931 Lucerne Dr., Janesville, followed by burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, May 2nd from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral. There will be a luncheon at the church following the burial services at the cemetery.
