Earl Campbell

Earl Campbell, age 86 of Janesville, WI died on December 25, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home, Janesville. He was born on October 25, 1937 in Perry County, KY, the son of Oscar and Gypsie Campbell. Earl grew up in Hazard, KY and was a graduate of Buckhorn High School.

Earl married Betty New on April 27, 1977. She preceded him in death on August 24, 2016. He was formerly employed by General Motors in Indianapolis, IN.

After his wife died in 2016, Earl moved to Janesville in 2016 from Cullman Alabama, to reside with his stepson and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Vicky Schaffer. Earl enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Masonic Lodge # 739, Trimble, AL.

He is survived by one sister, Cleo Campbell; two grandchildren Tonya and Shawn; nieces and nephews including a special niece, Kim Deaton; stepchildren, Dennis (Vicky) Schaffer, Perry (Wendy) Schaffer, Belinda Boone; step-grandchildren, Jason Mayo, Amanda Reddington, Matthew Boone and Zack Schaffer; several great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, and his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Short.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Cullman-Heritage Funeral Home, Cullman, AL. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethsadia Baptist Church Cemetery in Cullman.
