Douglas Robert Baker

Douglas Robert Baker, age 80, of Evansville Manor, a former Janesville resident passed away at Mercy Hospital on January 20, 2024. He was born on May 13, 1943 in Rochester, NY the son of Charles and Lillian (Berlew) Baker. He grew up in Penfield, NY where he attended school. While in his senior year in high school, Douglas joined the United States Marine Corp and served for 5 years.


Douglas married Nancy Heineman on July 9, 1966. Douglas worked as a tool & die maker. He was employed by Gleason Works in Rochester NY and in 1978 moved to Janesville where he was employed by Parker Pen Company until the business closed. He was then employed by Carnes Company in Verona, WI until he retired.


Douglas is survived by his wife Nancy; daughter Karen (Dwight) Johnson; grandson John (Cassandra) Eisele; great-grandsons; Ian and Brandon; brothers, Alan (Annette) Baker and Kenneth Baker; aunt, Leona Heineman.


Burial will be at a later date at the Southern Wisconsin Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Union Grove, WI where military rites will be conducted.
