Donna Mae Zahn

Donna Mae Zahn of Janesville, WI passed away at her home on March 27, 2025 at age 95. She was born on January 10, 1930, the daughter of Albert and Frieda (Wegner) Carstensen at the family home in Fond du Lac, WI. She grew up in Fond du Lac and Ripon, WI and graduated from high school in Fond du Lac.

Donna married Louis C. Zahn of Jefferson, WI on September 24, 1949. She was formerly employed as a clerical worker by A.T. & T. both in Janesville and Denver, CO. Prior to retiring she was secretary at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Janesville where she was a long-time member. Donna enjoyed quilting and genealogy. Above all else, she will be remembered as a “devoted mom and grandma” and woman of quiet, strong faith.

Donna is survived by her children; Bob Zahn of Janesville, Rick (Tina) Zahn of Evergreen, CO, Cindi (Jim) Holman of Menomonee Falls, WI, Kris McGowan of Fort Atkinson, WI, and Terry (Lisa) Zahn of Janesville; grandchildren, Katie Livingston, Becky (Joe) Stripsky, Michael (Mandy) Roehl, Grayson (Annelise) Zahn, Chris (Cristina) Holman, Adam (Katy) Hugo-Holman, Jacob McGowan, Luke (Mandy) McGowan, Amalee McGowan, Zach McGowan, Shawna Miech, Bryan Jones, and Samantha (Nate) Woodworth; and 18 great-grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Zahn on July 15, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and dearly beloved Grandma Kate.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at ST. MATTHEW’S EVANGELICAL LUHTHERAN CHURCH, 709 Milton Avenue, Janesville. Rev. James Janke will officiate. Visitation will be held at the Church on April 2nd from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in Union Cemetery, Jefferson, WI. Memorials may be made in Donna’s name to St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or Agrace Hospice. The Zahn family is being assisted by HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.
