Dixie E. Stebbins

Dixie E. Stebbins, (nee Morrison) age 87, of 2408 Tree Line Drive died Monday April 12 surrounded by loved ones at her daughter’s home in Janesville, Wisconsin. She was born August 5, 1933 in Port Huron Michigan, the daughter of Raleigh and Bessie Morrison. Dixie and Robert Stebbins married on April 6, 1957 in Wyandotte, Michigan. She called Easton, Pennsylvania home since 1986, however lived in a variety of places prior including Riverview, Michigan, both the Bay Area and southern California and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a mortgage loan processor prior to retirement in 1995. Survivors include sons Mark (Jean) Stebbins, Matthew (Melissa Michaels) Stebbins and daughter Stacy (Rob) Randall; six grandchildren: Diane Stebbins and Sarah Stebbins-Avilla (Dustin), Julia and Teagan Stebbins, Kelsey and Benjamin Randall; and 1 great grandson Easton Patrick Avilla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her mother and father, brothers Raleigh and Jobe Morrison and sister Amanda Souza. Dixie enjoyed life and was proud of her children and grandchildren’s academic accomplishments. She was an ovarian cancer survivor and gave back to the community following her recovery. She was a mentor for First Strides, member of the Moravian Store Book club, and League of Women Voters. Besides those community groups, she loved to play her piano and organ, knit scarves for charitable organizations and reading. Private funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday April 19 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, Janesville, Wisconsin. Memorials will be to Alzheimer’s Association and Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure”.
