David O. Fredricks

David O. Fredricks, age 64 of Janesville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 12, 2024, of natural causes. He was born November 3, 1959, in Janesville, the son of William and Nancy (Whitmyer) Fredricks. A life-long Janesville resident, David graduated from Craig High School in 1978. He later attended Blackhawk Technical College and MATC.

Dave married Laurie A. James on May 21, 1994. They had two daughters, Rachel and Salana. David was employed by Lear Seating from 1995 until they closed in 2008. He was then employed as a custodian by Oak Lawn and the Janesville School System until going to work at I K I in Edgerton where he became a line material handler.

Dave will be remembered for many things from being an avid Packers fan to his fishing from dawn to dusk. He will also be remembered for being able to fix anything, so he was often referred to as Handyman Dave, Mr. Fix-it or Duct Tape Dave. In addition to his love for the Packers, he enjoyed being a Badgers and Bucks fan.

David Fredricks is survived by his wife, Laurie; daughters, Rachel Fredricks and Salana (Bryce) Cox; grandchildren, Serenity Koker and Bristol Cox; brothers and sisters, John (Tammy) Fredricks, Ellen (David) Voelker, Matthew Fredricks (Jennifer), and Sarah Fredricks; nieces and nephews, Mykel, Emily, Katie, Shannon, Erin, Ryan, Aaron, Brett and AJ. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nancy Fredricks.

A visitation of remembrance will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville with a prayer service to conclude the visitation at 7 p.m. Interment will be at a later date in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
