Catherine M. White

Catherine White, age 89, passed away at Huntington Place on Sunday, September 22, 2024. She was born in Janesville on November 25, 1934, the daughter of Ben and Mary (Hein) Fuder. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Janesville and was a 1953 graduate of Janesville High School. Cathy married Bill White in 1957 in a Catholic Chapel at Fort Polk, Louisiana, where Bill served in the Army. Cathy and Bill had been classmates at St. Mary’s School. They were married for 65 years until Bill’s passing in 2022. She worked for the Meals on Wheels program at Mercy Health System. After retirement, Cathy and Bill rang the red kettle bells and collected donations for the Salvation Army for many holiday seasons. Cathy enjoyed many special lifelong friendships with childhood friends and her nieces. She worked hard throughout her life to support her family and was a trusted and supportive friend to many.

Cathy is survived by her sons, Dave (Diane) White and Dan (Jennifer) White; four grandchildren, Amy (Kyle) Fassbender, Danny (Amy) White, Andy (Maggie) White and Tommy White; great grandchildren, Taytum Fassbender and Tucker Fassbender; nieces, Judy Bothun and Vicki Stuessy. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; an infant daughter, Camille White; a sister, Betty Knipshield and a brother, Robert Fuder.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church in Janesville with a private family burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the start of Mass.
