Carol Mae Zimney

Carol M. Zimney, age 75 of Janesville, WI passed away at Willowick Moments in Clinton, WI on July 3, 2024. She was born in Trenton, NJ on April 12, 1949, the daughter of Edwin and Gladys (Yeager) Bride. Carol grew up in Janesville and graduated from Janesville Senior High School in 1967. She received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from U W Whitewater in special education.

Carol taught in schools on an Indian reservation in South Dakota, as well as at schools in Kansas City and Milwaukee. Prior to retiring she taught at the CESA II Therapeutic Learning Center in Janesville.

Carol was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church where she had served on the church council. She was active with the Civil Air Patrol with her brother, Jim. She enjoyed spending time at the family cabin at Hayward, WI, going on cruises and she loved to dance. Carol was a member of the Jesse Aron fan club, always having been an avid fan of Elvis Presley. Carol will be remembered for the special love she had for children, especially her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her husband, Jack Zimney whom she married on February 13, 1986; stepchildren, Tammie (Scott), Bill (Angie), Scott (Vickie), Lisa (Jimmy), Kim (Pablo), Jason (Joni), Noel (Nicole), Sheila (Todd); 11 step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, David (Carol) Bride; sister-in-law, Helen Bride; five nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Bride; sister-in-law Mikki.

Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 13th at the HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME. Online condolences are welcome at www.henkeclarson.com
