Bud Barnett

December 25, 1957 — March 6, 2024

JANESVILLE - Harold “Bud” Barnett of Janesville, WI was born on December 25, 1957, in Durand, MI, and passed away on March 6, 2024, at the Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care in Janesville after a hard-fought battle with Lewy Body Dementia.


He was the son of John and Pearl (Taylor) Barnett and grew up in the small town of Gaines, MI. He was raised in a loving family with his parents and 7 siblings.


Bud worked for General Motors and transferred to Janesville in 1999. He was a very hardworking man that provided well for his family, continuing to work other jobs following his retirement from General Motors.


Bud loved to watch sports with football, NASCAR and hockey being his favorites. The University of Michigan and the Detroit Lions were his favorite teams, while Tom Brady was his favorite player. Bud took great pride in the huge gardens he planted and tended to, helping to feed his family. He loved taking care of his yard and property. He had a wonderful and mischievous sense of humor and was loved by many.


Bud will be dearly missed by his wife, Renee; sons, Shelby and Danny; and daughter, Heather; honorary sons, Zak and Dakota; honorary daughter, JoJo; and grandchildren, Ben, Alex, Matthew, Reece and Ana; as well as many other family and friends. Bud is now with his mom and dad, brother and sister, in-laws, and other loved ones who gained their wings before him.


Donations may be may in Bud’s honor to Agrace Hospice or Lewy Body Dementia Organization.


A private family gathering will be held at a later time.
