Bruce Leif Douglas, age 82 of Avalon, WI passed away at Beloit Memorial Hospital on Saturday, April 13, 2024. He was born on May 25, 1941, in Janesville, the son of Ralph and Rosella (Figi) Douglas. He grew up in Avalon and graduated from Clinton High School in 1959.
Bruce married a high school classmate, Lois Knutson on May 27, 1961. He owned and operated the Douglas Centre general store in Avalon for 50 years and after it closed was employed by General Motors for 10 years.
Bruce was an avid hunter. He enjoyed sports, especially following the Brewers and Packers. He was a member of Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church and the N.R.A.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lois Douglas; children, Kevin (Kathi) Douglas, Chris (Mike) Roehl, Cindy (Jeff) Mosher; grandchildren, Chelsea (Max) Giese, Zach Roehl, Aimee (Kevin) Tabura, Sarah (Vern) Rickabaugh, Ashley Mosher, Sara (Ryan) Gilles, Mallory (Dan) Box; great-grandchildren, Sailor, Sanibel, Jude, Hugh, Deacon, Ruby, Hunter, Noah, Makayla, Azia, Kechi, Micanna, Micah; brothers, Wayne (Sharon) Douglas, Kirk (Rhonda) Douglas, Brian (Joan) Douglas; many nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Rosella Douglas.
