Betty Corrine Bloedel

Betty Corrine Bloedel, 96, of Janesville, WI (most recently Sun City, AZ) joined her husband Robert on March 7, 2022 following a short illness. Betty was born on September 7, 1925 in Shullsburg, WI, the daughter of George and Cora (Bohlman) Abraham. She attended Wilson Grade School and graduated from Janesville High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She married Robert A. Bloedel on September 18, 1948 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Janesville. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2019. Betty was employed as a registered nurse. Her last 12 years of employment was at the Dean Riverview Clinic, Janesville. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Janesville, Mercy Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae and was a former member of the Rock River Community Club. Betty loved traveling, thrift shopping, and was always willing to head out to a small cafe for breakfast or lunch. Betty and Sue took a short trip to Cottonwood mid-December and enjoyed their ride on the Verde Canyon Railway. A special thank you to her friends at St. Peter’s and the Caring Team for the cards and notes sent to her after her move to Arizona. She always enjoyed receiving them. Susan would like to thank Alma and Rebecca at Lavender Adult Care Home in Glendale, Arizona and Hospice of the West. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Klein with whom she made her home in Arizona since the passing of her husband, sister-in-law Ruth Kannengeiser, a nephew, Bill (Shari) Bobzien; nieces, Cheryl (Greg) Richter, Linda (Malcolm) Dougherty, and Sandy (Joe) Sagona, a great-niece and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, son-in-law, Matt Klein, sister, Pat Bobzien and brothers-in-law Don Bobzien and John Kannengeiser. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, May 13, 2022 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1422 Center Avenue, Janesville. A service will follow at 12 noon at the Church with the Rev. Bruce Gray officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials in Betty’s name may be given to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
