Anne Elizabeth (Kehoe) Lucey, age 89, of Janesville, Wisconsin, died at SSM Health Hospice House in Baraboo, Wisconsin, on February 1, 2024.
She was born in Chicago in 1934. Anne was raised by her great aunt, Frances Kehoe in LaSalle and Spring Valley, Illinois.
She married Richard (Dick) Thomas Lucey on December 29, 1952, at Holy Cross Church in Mendota, Illinois. They were dairy farmers in rural Janesville.
Anne was an active member and board member of St. Mary’s Home and School Association. Other community activities included serving as a food leader in the Harmony 4-H Club and as treasurer of the Rock County Dairy Promotion Committee.
After raising her daughters, she continued to use her cooking skills in private homes (one for 25 years), for funeral dinners at St. Mary’s Church, and at the Janesville Women’s Club. For a fundraiser while at the Women’s Club, she produced a cookbook featuring her successful recipes.
Besides cooking and baking, Anne was a skilled seamstress. She also enjoyed other forms of needlework, creating quilts and afghans for family members, as well as a crewel work Christmas stocking for each grandchild and great grandchild. Her hobbies were flower gardening and reading.
Anne was preceded in death by husband Dick and daughters Janet and Nancy. She is survived by daughters Mary (Tim) Fitzgerald, Ellen Lucey, Linda (Bill) Rinehart, Carol (Mike) Striegl, Jean (EJ) Otto, Joyce (Mike) Johnson, and Martha Lucey (Vern Armstrong), as well as 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at NATIVITY OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at the CHURCH from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Private interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Milton.
